How I Got Started Convincing Wood to Forget It's a Tree

I didn't want a regular job, but my wallet had other ideas. After 25 years grinding in the transportation industry, I was done. The burnout was real, and let's just say I wasn't impressed with how the system treats small businesses.

So, I hit the road - literally. My motorcycle carried me until I sold it. Then my feet carried me 700 miles along the Appalachian Trail. I panned for gold in Montana and Oregon (found some flakes, but no retirement fund). I was living the bum life and loving it.

Then one day, while avoiding job applications, I stumbled on a video of a guy whittling roosters from branches. Something clicked. A few hundred wooden birds later, I was all in.

What started with pocket knives and twigs grew to chainsaws and logs. That little Stihl MS170 I bought with my bike money? It became my magic wand for turning logs and stumps into lasting art.

Now every piece I carve is a rebellion against time. A way to take what nature gave us and make it last generations. It's not work when you're lovin it!
